Pullen Park Loft Apartments
Our Pullen Park Loft Apartments are conveniently located. Downtown Raleigh, Cameron Village, the Museum district and Centennial Campus are within a 5-7 minute drive. Within walking distance to NCSU, our apartments are also a short ride to Shaw University, Peace College and Meredith. The property is located within walking distance to major Wolfline bus routes on Pullen Road and convenient to the Raleigh CAT lines.

Our apartments offer two floor plans. Each plan features a loft sleeping area and comes with a mini refrigerator, mini-blinds, and ceiling fan. Water, sewer, and trash are provided with a standard lease. Apartments come furnished or unfurnished. Each unit has independent living quarters so you don't have to share your loft or your bathroom. Each unit is all electric and individually metered. Our most popular lease includes electric payments with the monthly rent. Electric payments average about $40 per month.

These pictures show the two floor plans - the left shows the smaller counter, the right the larger.

Besides being highly affordable, our apartments include an on site laundry facility, ample free reserved parking, and on site professional property management and maintenance. Recent improvements include exterior upgrades, a video surveillance system as a proactive deterrent, and a new roof. Our upgrades, combined with weekly grounds maintenance, make for an attractive property where you can be proud to live.

Lofts, Efficiency apartments, or Studios?
Frequently we are asked "Are your apartments lofts, efficiency apartments, or studios?" The answer is "Yes." The real question is "what is the difference?"

A loft is probably the simplest to explain. A loft apartment has a separate floor consisting of a large unpartitioned space, usually used in context of a factory or warehouse or other commercial space. Our apartments are not like a "New York loft" which most people associate with an "industrial" building renovated into high dollar condominiums. Rather our lofts are affordable apartments by design.

There are two levels in our apartments with stairs on one side of the apartment leading to the loft. The loft level is about half the size of the downstairs. All of our apartments feature a ceiling fan for the loft. Most fans are 5-blade, reversible 3-speed fans with 3 bulb light fixtures that dramatically improve lighting upstairs. Most apartments also have built-in shelving upstairs. Some units have CFL lighting. CFL technology maximizes light output and minimizes heat so the loft remains cool even with the upstairs lights on. And yes, the ceiling is "vaulted" or "lofted" even in the loft level.

For best lighting and comfort, make sure your loft has a ceiling fan.

The WordNet Dictionary defines an efficiency apartment as:

n. 1. a small apartment, sometimes furnished, with minimal kitchen and bath facilities. The unit may comprise a single room plus a bathroom, and the kitchen facilities are often open to the main room, or may form a small niche in a corner. There are many variations of efficiency apartment, including some in which furnishings such as a bed may be pulled out from a wall recess and stored there again when not in use....

By this definition our apartments are certainly efficiency apartments, but you won't find a bed in the wall. Our apartments are basically an open living space with a "loft" as described above.

This picture shows the downstairs area with closet space to the right under the stairs.

A studio (or studio apartment) is defined by WordNet as "an apartment with a living space and a bathroom and a small kitchen." In some areas studios are associated with furnished apartments rather than unfurnished. Our apartments come either furnished or unfurnished.

Studios are not 1 bedroom apartments. In our apartments we consider the entire loft the bedroom, but the loft does not have a closet or a closing door, so it is by definition not a bedroom. Many people use the terms studio and efficiency interchangeably. We generally call our apartments "studio loft apartments".

The Triangle Transit Authority (TTA) is a regional public transportation provider that offers a variety of transit services to North Carolina's greater Triangle area and outlying counties. The TTA has stops on Hillsborough Street at the bell tower on NCSU campus. Look for schedules for Routes 105 and 107. See the TTA web site for schedules, fees, and bus stops. The TTA also has plans for a regional rail system that will have stops relatively close to our apartments.
